2. Travel from May to September, on the right boat
Across all 96 boats the middle low season saving is only about $11 per person (8%), and 20 boats charge one price all year. The savings are concentrated on a few ships:

4. Use the child and solo rules
- Children 0 to 3 are free; 4 to 11 pay only the extra bed rate.
- A family cabin for 3 or 4 is cheaper than two cabins; 32 of our boats have them.
- One adult alone in a double cabin pays 85% of the cabin price, not 100%.
5. Choose the right transfer

6. Do not pay for what you will not use
A balcony, a bathtub or a suite raises the price; compare the cabin types on the boat page. If you will be on deck most of the time, the entry cabin on a good boat is usually the best value. Drinks and spa are extra on every boat, so budget for them.
7. Be careful with “deals” that look too good
An overnight cruise with meals for well under $100 can mean a day boat with a few beds, a long drive to a far pier, or extras added on board. Before you pay, check four things: the boat’s name, the number of cabins, what is included, and whether the transfer is in the price.
