Why this trip

• You ride on the back of a vintage motorbike or a classic Vespa with a licensed driver, so you see Hanoi's traffic from inside it without having to handle it.
• The first part goes into the backstreets, alleys, local homes, schools and markets that most city tours drive past.
• Then you pass the big names: Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Tran Quoc Pagoda, Train Street, the French Quarter, Hoan Kiem and West Lake, and Long Bien Bridge.
• It finishes, or starts, with a meal at a small cafe in the old town, with vegan and vegetarian dishes on the menu.

An honest note: this is four hours on the back of a bike in Hanoi traffic. The landmarks are mostly seen as you ride past rather than visited inside, and if it rains the tour still runs, in ponchos.

Price

Group departure. You join a small group on the same route with the same guide standard.

Private departure. Your own guide and vehicle, your own pace. The total falls per person as your group grows.

Travelling alone. One person on a group departure pays $94, shown in the booking box before you pay.

Children. On the shared tour children aged 4 to 10 pay a child rate and a second child under 4 pays a reduced rate. On a private tour one child under 5 goes free, children 5 to 10 pay 70 per cent and 11 and over pay as adults. Tell us the ages when you book and we apply it before you pay.

How it works

1. Book and confirm. Pay at checkout or message us on WhatsApp first. We confirm your date, pickup time and guide within one hour.
2. Pickup. Hotel pickup in and around Hanoi Old Quarter.
3. On the day. About 4 hours. Morning 08:00 to 12:00, afternoon 12:30 to 16:30, or sunset and night 17:00 to 21:00. Your guide keeps the timings loose enough for photographs and questions.
