Ha Giang tour overview

Why this trip

  • A taste of the loop in one day from Ha Giang city.
  • Up the Quan Ba pass to the Heaven Gate viewpoint and the Fairy Bosom hills.
  • The Lung Tam hemp weaving village.
  • Back in Ha Giang city in time for the evening bus.

An honest note: One day only reaches the southern part of the loop. The Ma Pi Leng pass is too far for a day trip.

Price

$75 per person on a small group departure of up to 10 people. Solo travellers pay the same price.

Want the same route without other travellers? Ask us for a private departure and we quote the total before you pay.

Children. We do not put children under 12 on the back of a motorbike on these roads. For families, the same routes run by private car.

How it works

  1. Book and confirm. Pay at checkout or message us on WhatsApp first. We confirm your date, the meeting point and your guide within one hour, and tell you what to bring.
  2. On the bike. Your driver handles the road. You wear a helmet, keep your bag small and hold on. If you want to stop for a photo, tap your driver on the shoulder.
  3. The permit. Since June 2026 foreign visitors need a border area permit for Quan Ba, Yen Minh, Dong Van and Meo Vac. Bring your passport. Your guide arranges the permit against it.

What to bring

Bring only what you need for the day.

  • Your passport, for the border area permit
  • A warm layer. The passes are cold from October to March
  • A windproof layer and gloves. It is cold on the passes in an open vehicle, even in summer
  • Rain jacket or poncho, whatever the forecast says
  • Sunscreen and sunglasses
  • Cash in Vietnamese dong for drinks and small purchases

Ha Giang city is six to seven hours from Hanoi. Most people take the overnight sleeper bus and arrive early in the morning. This tour starts in Ha Giang city, so the bus is not included in the price above. We book it for you if you want it and show you the fare before you pay.
