The second morning is a land trip
Most Lan Ha itineraries spend both days on the water. Calypso puts you ashore: the ship docks at Gia Luan Pier on Cat Ba Island, a bus takes you inland, and you walk Trung Trang Grotto through the limestone. It is a proper cave walk rather than being rowed under an arch.
If you have already done one Halong cruise and the thought of another cave-by-sampan morning does not move you, this is the alternative.
Choosing a cabin
Two types, fifteen dollars apart. Deluxe at $275 has no balcony; Deluxe Balcony at $290 does. There is no argument to be had here: pay the $15.
