Halong International Harbour to Bai Tu Long Bay (Lunch & Dinner Included)
- Morning You make your own way to Halong International Cruise Port (SunGroup) by shuttle or private car. Neither is part of the cabin price.
- Afternoon A tender runs you out to the ship. The crew hand over a drink, run through the safety points and show you the cabin, then lunch is served as Athena Royal turns towards Bai Tu Long Bay.
- The ship holds in the Cong Do area for the afternoon. There is swimming, kayaking under the cliffs, and a long stretch of white sand if you would rather sit still.
- Early evening Happy hour on the sundeck, with a Vietnamese cooking class running at the same time.
- Evening Set dinner. Squid fishing, a film and the open deck afterwards; massage costs extra. Overnight on board.
Meals included: lunch, dinner.
Vung Vieng Village and Thay Cave (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Included)
- Early morning Tai Chi runs on the upper deck for early risers. A light breakfast follows.
- 08:30 A day boat takes the group further into Bai Tu Long Bay.
- Vung Vieng fishing village comes first, along with the pearl beds worked there, then kayaking at Thay Cave. Whether Thay Cave happens depends on the tide that day.
- Afternoon Lunch aboard the day boat, then a tea break with an introduction to how tea is drunk in Vietnam. Back on Athena Royal there is the cooking class, the top deck at sunset, or a massage at extra cost.
- Evening Set dinner, then a film in the dining room, squid fishing or the social area. Overnight on board.

Bai Tu Long Bay to Halong International Port (Breakfast & Brunch Included)
- Early morning Tai Chi on the sundeck, then a light breakfast.
- Morning Thien Canh Son Cave is the last stop. Close to 200 stone steps take you up through the stalactites, and there is a small beach below it looking out over Bai Tu Long Bay.
- Free time back aboard, then cabin check-out and brunch on the way in to the pier.
