Price

$399 per person, based on two people sharing the car. The car is yours: nobody else joins, and you stop wherever you like.

For three or more people, or a single traveller, message us on WhatsApp or by email with your dates and group size. We reply with the exact total and a payment link, so you see the final figure before you pay anything.

Children. Tell us the ages when you enquire and we quote before you pay.

How it works

  1. Book and confirm. Pay at checkout or message us on WhatsApp first. We confirm your date, the meeting point and your guide within one hour, and tell you what to bring.
  2. The nights. Homestays are simple: mattress, blankets, a shared bathroom with hot water, and dinner with the family. Small hotels in the towns have private bathrooms.
  3. The permit. Since June 2026 foreign visitors need a border area permit for Quan Ba, Yen Minh, Dong Van and Meo Vac. Bring your passport. Your guide arranges the permit against it.

What to bring

Pack small. Leave large luggage in Hanoi or at your hotel in Ha Giang city.

  • Your passport, for the border area permit
  • A warm layer. The passes are cold from October to March
  • Rain jacket or poncho, whatever the forecast says
  • Sunscreen and sunglasses
  • Cash in Vietnamese dong for drinks and small purchases
  • One change of clothes per night and a small towel
  • A headlamp or charged phone. Villages are dark at night

Ha Giang city is six to seven hours from Hanoi. Most people take the overnight sleeper bus and arrive early in the morning. This tour starts in Ha Giang city, so the bus is not included in the price above. We book it for you if you want it and show you the fare before you pay.
