Thirty-nine cabins buys you the things small boats cannot carry: a gym, a spa, a proper multi-level layout, and a hull steady enough that nobody in your group needs to worry about it. Check-in is at the Sea Stars Lounge on Level 2 of Halong International Cruise Port rather than a pier queue.
Day two goes to Tung Sau Pearl Farm.
Choosing a cabin, and one line that looks wrong
Deluxe 30 sqm at $335. Executive 36 sqm at $380. Then Premium Executive, 30 sqm, at $390.
Read that again: the Premium Executive costs $10 more than the Executive and is six square metres smaller. It is not a typo on our side; you are paying for deck position. Unless you have been shown that specific cabin and want it, the Executive at $380 is the better room.
Above them: Executive Triple 44 sqm for three at $560, Junior Suite 44 sqm at $620, Captain Suite 70 sqm at $690, Royal Suite 83 sqm at $900, and the President Suite at 198 sqm for four at $2,600. Every cabin has a balcony.
