Halong Bay cruise overview
Hera Grand Cruise has 11 cabins, all suites, and three golden sails, launched in 2017. It is a different boat from Hera Classic Boutique, the same company's 19-cabin wooden junk.
Why eleven cabins matters
Most boats on this route carry between twenty and sixty cabins. Eleven means around twenty to thirty guests aboard rather than a hundred. The sundeck does not fill up and the kayak launch does not queue.
What is on board
Two places to eat: the Lily restaurant inside and the Iris deck in the open air. Two bars: the Cuckoo bar and the Panthera bar on the upper deck. Afternoon tea is served in the Lotus lounge, and the sundeck has loungers and umbrellas.
Cabins run large for the price
Junior Suite is 35 sqm, Ocean Suite 45 sqm, Earth Suite and Heaven Suite 60 sqm each. Heaven Suite is double bed only and has a bathtub facing the bay.
Per person, two sharing: Junior Suite $117 in low season and $126 in high season, Ocean Suite $142 and $152, Earth Suite $165 and $199, Heaven Suite $190 and $252. High season runs from October to April.
