Ha Giang Loop 3 Days 2 Nights by Private Car

This is the Ha Giang Loop without the motorbike. The same road, the same passes and the same villages, in a private car with a driver who knows every bend of it, and a guide who can explain what you are looking at.

It suits anyone who wants to see the far north but would rather not spend three days on the back of a bike: families, couples who have not ridden before, or anyone who has read about the accident rate on the loop and decided against it. It also means you can stop where you want, for as long as you want.

The route. The first day climbs out of Ha Giang city to the Quan Ba Heaven Gate and spends the night in Du Gia, one of the quieter valleys off the main road. The second day is the one people come for: a boat through the Nho Que canyon and then the Ma Pi Leng pass above it, ending in Dong Van. The last day takes in the H’mong King Palace at Sa Phin and the switchbacks above Yen Minh on the way back to Ha Giang.

Where you sleep. A family homestay in Du Gia on the first night and a hotel or homestay in Dong Van on the second, in private rooms. Tell us if you would rather have a hotel both nights.

Getting there. The tour starts and ends in Ha Giang city. Most people take the overnight sleeper bus from Hanoi, which arrives early in the morning. We can book it for you, or arrange a private transfer if you prefer.

The permit. Since June 2026 foreign visitors need a border area permit to enter Quan Ba, Yen Minh, Dong Van and Meo Vac. It costs $10 per person. It is included in this price and your guide sorts it out.
