Athena Luxury or Athena Royal?
Ava sells both, they belong to the same operator, they leave from the same port and the cabins are built to the same sizes. Rather than pretend they are different ships, here is the honest split:
Athena Luxury goes into Halong Bay proper and its morning excursion is Luon Cave, by kayak or bamboo boat. Athena Royal goes to Bai Tu Long and climbs Thien Canh Son Cave. Halong is busier and has the sights people recognise; Bai Tu Long is emptier and involves a 200-step climb.
The other difference is at the top of the cabin list. Athena Luxury has a Family Triple at 35 sqm for three people; Athena Royal does not, and offers a larger two-person Royal Suite instead. Travelling as three, this is the sister to pick.
Choosing a cabin

Departure is Halong International Cruise Port (SunGroup), not Tuan Chau. The transfer is not in the cabin price and a tender runs you out to the ship.
