What that actually means
Eight guests at full capacity. In practice you will often be sharing the boat with one or two other couples, and if your group is four couples you have effectively chartered it without paying charter rates.
Everything that is normally a queue on a Halong cruise stops being one. The kayaks go out when you want them. Dinner is at the time that suits the boat, not a seating. The crew cook for eight people instead of eighty.

Choosing a cabin
There is one type: Premium cabin, 20 sqm, with a balcony, at $510 for two. No decision to make.
Be clear that 20 sqm is a small room. You are paying for the boat being nearly empty, not for the cabin being large. If floor area is what you want for $510, Ava will show you a 45 sqm suite on a bigger ship instead.
Before you book
Boarding is at noon at the Bhaya Cruise Centre on Tuan Chau Island. Day two: tea and coffee from 06:15, Tai Chi on the sundeck, Surprise Cave at 07:30.
Meals, entrance fees, kayaking and the cooking class are in the fare. Spa is charged on board. Transfer from Hanoi is separate.

Arrive at the Bhaya Cruise Centre on Tuan Chau Island and board. Welcome drinks, then a short briefing on the itinerary and safety from the cruise manager.

Lunch as the boat heads towards south-east Halong Bay, past the islands. The afternoon is at the Trinh Nu area: kayak around the lagoon or relax on the beach behind Trinh Nu Cave. Then the cooking class.
