Genesis Regal has been running Lan Ha Bay since 2019 with 20 cabins. What most people notice first is not the ship: it is the private lounge Genesis keeps at Tuan Chau Marina, where you check in before boarding and wait after disembarking instead of standing on the pier.
What Genesis Regal is good at
Two real family cabins. The Junior and Senior Family Suites are 40 sqm with one double bed and a separate single bed, which is a proper third bed rather than a rollaway pushed into a double room. Ships this size usually have none.
The schedule runs tight and early. You are back at Tuan Chau Marina by about 10:45, which is roughly forty minutes ahead of most Lan Ha boats. If you have an afternoon flight out of Hanoi, that margin matters.
Choosing a cabin
Read the sizes before the names on this ship. Junior and Senior Suite are both 32 sqm. Executive and Premium Suite are both 45 sqm. In each pair the extra $30 buys deck position, not floor area.
So there are really three decisions, not seven: 32 sqm at $270, 45 sqm at $360, or the Regal Terrace Suite at 55 sqm for $480. Travelling as three, take a Family Suite at 40 sqm.
Every cabin on board has a balcony, including the cheapest one.

The shuttle from Hanoi is charged separately. Pickup runs 08:00 to 08:30 from your hotel and the ship boards at 12:30, so it is a long morning. Tell Ava your hotel and we will quote the transfer with the cabin.
