Halong Bay cruise overview
La Regina Royal has 20 cabins and works Halong Bay, out of Halong International Cruise Port. It is the third La Regina ship Ava sells and the only one on this side of the water.
Which La Regina?
Royal is the Halong Bay one, and the cheapest of the three at $255. Grand and Classic both work the quieter bay to the south. If you want the classic Halong sights — Surprise Cave in particular — Royal is the one in the family that goes there.
The thing to know before you book
None of the three cabin types has a balcony. Noble 26 sqm at $255, Imperia 26 sqm at $260, Grand Royal 35 sqm at $290. If a balcony matters, La Regina Grand gives you one in every cabin from $310, and Ava would rather point you there than have you find out on board.
Choosing a cabin
Noble and Imperia are the same 26 sqm and five dollars apart. That is not a decision, it is a rounding error; take whichever is free.
The Grand Royal at 35 sqm for $290 is the only real step up, and $35 for nine extra square metres is fair.

Check-in is at the waiting lounge at Halong International Cruise Port with luggage handled for you. Day two is Surprise Cave.
Meals, entrance fees, kayaking, Tai Chi and the cooking class are in the fare. Spa is charged on board. Transfer from Hanoi is separate.
