Cycad Grand is a steel ship with 32 cabins from the Cycad Cruise group, the sister of Cycad Indochine, and it started sailing Bai Tu Long Bay in October 2026.
A brand-new ship on the quiet bay
Bai Tu Long takes a fraction of the boat traffic that Halong does. Cycad Grand follows the same route as Cycad Indochine: board at Sunworld International Harbour, an afternoon at Vung Vieng fishing village by kayak or bamboo boat, the night at anchor near Cong Do, and Thien Canh Son Cave on the second morning. The ship spends about 1.5 hours longer on the water than the usual overnight routes.
Choosing a cabin
Every cabin has a private balcony and a sea view, so there is no window-only entry room to avoid. Junior Balcony Suite (deck 1) is from $147 per person, Executive Balcony Suite (deck 2) from $181, and the Premium Executive Suite adds a bathtub, from $238.
For families, the Family Balcony Suite has one double and two single beds and is sold per room for up to four guests, $588 for the whole room from May to September. The two Cycad Suites on deck 3 are the largest rooms on board.
The ship has a lift, a swimming pool on the sundeck and a large restaurant.
Before you book
Departure is Sunworld International Harbour in Bai Chay, about 2.5 hours from Hanoi, then a short tender out to the ship. You return to Halong International Cruise Port at about 11:00 on day two. Transfer is charged separately.
