Velar of the Seas launched in 2025 with 29 cabins, making it both the newest and one of the largest ships Ava sells on Lan Ha Bay.
What Velar is good at
The entry cabin is 40 sqm. On most ships in this price band you are looking at 28 to 35 sqm, so the cheapest room here is larger than the mid-tier room elsewhere.
Day two kayaks the Tra Bau area, which was used as a filming location for Kong: Skull Island. It is one of the quieter corners of Lan Ha rather than a main anchorage.
Choosing a cabin
Three types: Senior at $310, Executive at $325, Premier at $350. All have balconies.
One caveat worth knowing: the operator publishes the floor area for the Senior cabin only (40 sqm) and leaves Executive and Premier blank. Ava will not guess at numbers we cannot verify. If the exact size of the upper two matters to your choice, ask us and we will get it from the operator in writing before you book.

Check-in is at the waiting lounge on Tuan Chau Marina, then a tender out to the ship. Transfer from Hanoi is charged separately.
